Pasadena Ronald McDonald House to Host Annual Walk for Kids to Help Families with Critically Ill Children on Sunday, April 5

More than 1,000 supporters are anticipated to come together in support of critically ill children and their families at the 2020 Pasadena Ronald McDonald House (PRMH) Walk for Kids. The annual family-friendly event aims to raise $150,000 to provide comfortable beds, hot meals, and a caring staff for the children and families staying at the House.

The Pasadena Ronald McDonald House opened its doors 16 years ago as a “home-away-from-home” where families stay while their children undergo life-changing medical treatment. At PRMH, parents and children lead a life as normal as possible during their traumatic times without the financial burden of costly hotel and travel expenses.

“Healing happens together. We believe that when a child is in time of greatest need, families and communities can come together to create solutions, ultimately changing a child’s life forever,” said the new Executive Director, Mara Leong-Maguinez. “This event would not be possible without the support of our sponsors, donors, volunteers and the generosity of so many supporters in the community.”

The Pasadena Walk for Kids is sponsored by Bank of America and Councilmember Steve Madison. On Walk day, enjoy a scenic (almost) 5K course surrounded by views of the city’s historic craftsmen style homes, including the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House, with hundreds of members of the Pasadena community. After the Walk, stay for music and entertainment, booths filled with food and giveaways from local businesses, and the popular Kid’s Zone featuring fun interactive games for children of all ages.
