Award-Winning Authors Matthew Burgess and Doug Salati Inspire Carver Elementary Students with Engaging Book Discussion

Two award-winning authors, Matthew Burgess and Doug Salati, visited Carver Elementary School yesterday to share insights about their new book in an engaging and fun way. The audience, made up of 2nd and 3rd graders, was asked, ‘Does anyone know what a metaphor is?’ Many hands shot up, and Hanson Lei confidently responded, ‘A metaphor is non-literal language used to describe something without using the words “like” or “as.”‘ This is just one example of the amazing students we have here in San Marino! A special thank you to Cathy Osegueda, Yukino Yeganeh, and Frank Castillo for helping organize this wonderful library event. Carver Elementary also extends its heartfelt gratitude to the PTA for their continued support of our fantastic facility and programs!
