Celebrating Día de los Muertos: First Graders Embrace Art and Remembrance

At Don Benito Elementary School Mrs. Workman’s first graders recently delved into the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos during their art class with Mrs. Davis. In a colorful celebration of this vibrant holiday, the young students crafted their own decorative skulls, embracing the lively colors and patterns associated with this special time of remembrance. Through their creative projects, the first graders not only developed their artistic skills but also gained a deeper understanding of cultural heritage and the importance of honoring loved ones who have passed. This hands-on experience allowed the students to appreciate the beauty of remembrance in a way that was both engaging and meaningful.
