Clairbourn Middle Schoolers and Guests Build Towers in October Challenge

For October’s Drop Everything & Build challenge, Clairbourn middle schoolers, along with their fathers, grandparents, and visitors, were tasked with building the tallest tower possible using only 20 index cards. The twist? The tower had to support the weight of one of the visitors’ cell phone. There were a variety of strategies for combining stability and height, and there was a lot of discussion and testing regarding stability of triangles versus cylinders. Clairbourn thanks all the visitors who supported the design process! Well done, Clairbourn Engineers!
