Cora Adomou’s Stellar Season Leads Marshall to CIF Finals
Marshall Fundamental School’s Cora Adomou delivered an outstanding season for the girls’ soccer team, leading the CIF Southern Section with 54 goals. Her contributions helped the team secure the Mission Valley League title and advance to the CIF-SS Division 7 championship game. Recognized as the Mission Valley League’s most valuable player, she was also named the San Gabriel Valley Player of the Year.
Adomou’s playoff performance was particularly impressive, as she scored all 11 of Marshall’s goals during their five-game run to the championship. Her efforts included a hat trick in a 3-0 win over Nuview Bridge to open the Division 7 playoffs, followed by two goals in victories against Oakwood (2-1) and Riverside Prep (2-0). In the semifinals, she once again netted two goals in a 2-1 win over Rim of the World.
In the championship match against Vista del Lago, Adomou scored twice, but Marshall fell just short in a 3-2 defeat. Her coach, Stephanie Romero, praised her development, noting how she embraced her potential and played with confidence throughout the season.
