In the Catholic tradition, the month of May holds special significance as it is dedicated to honoring the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus. This time is marked by various devotions, prayers, and celebrations that highlight Mary’s role in the faith. One such tradition is the May Crowning, a ritual that involves placing a crown of flowers on a statue of Mary, symbolizing her queenship and purity.
At Alverno Heights Academy, the annual May Crowning prayer service is a cherished event. This year, the eighth-grade class took on the responsibility of organizing the ceremony, reflecting their deep respect and devotion.
