Flintridge Prep Celebrates Unity and Culture at Annual Friendsgiving Feast

On Thursday, Flintridge Prep students came together under the autumn sun to share food, culture, and a spirit of togetherness during the annual Friendsgiving lunch. Hosted by BRIDGE (Belonging, Respect, Inclusion, and Diversity, Grounded in Equity), the feast was an opportunity for student groups to share delicious dishes and talk about each food’s cultural significance. Delicacies included kimbap courtesy of the Asian American Association, baklava from the Near Eastern Student Association, tamales from the Spanish Honors Society, peach cobbler from the Black Student Union, and much more.

“Everyone loves food. It’s a great way to get people to show up, but it’s not just about the food,” said BRIDGE co-president Ray Cabrera ’25. “We want to acknowledge that (our groups are) different, but that doesn’t mean we need to stay separate. We can hold events together where we’re all in the same space.”
