Learning Works Present its New Graduates!

Graduation at Learning Works means more to its students than to most. It’s the culmination of years and years of contending with poverty, the legal system, homelessness, early pregnancy and a whole host of other impediments they’ve overcome to walk across that stage. Often, these students are the first in their families to graduate with a high school diploma. The feeling of excitement and pure joy in the audience is palpable.

Last week at First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Learning Works graduated 59 students, for a total of 1,192 students graduated since the school opened in 2008. If you’ve never attended a Learning Works graduation, mark the first week of June 2024 on your calendar and attend next year. “We’d love you to join us!”
