Marshall Celebrates the Manwani Family Scholarship 2023 Recipients



Marshall Fundamental School congratulates these recent Manwani Family Scholarship 2023 Recipients. Pictured above with Shyam Manwani and Bhart Manwani.

Kiara Lee, Academic, and Athletics
Kiara is recognized by the College Board as an AP Scholar with Honor & received the 2022 National African American Recognition Award from the College Board National Recognition Program. She is an AP Capstone Candidate for Diploma, her research on “Effects of Fantasy Literature on Dreams”. Kiara will begin her post-secondary education as a Pasadena City College Lancer with plans to major in Kinesiology.

Stephen Zephen Peter, Arts, & Leadership
He participated one year in the Marshall Mighty Marching Band & is a four-year member of the Choral Group, which includes experience in performance, arranging, & conducting. He was involved in several Marshall Musical Theater productions. He was more recently cast in the role of Henry in Marshall Fundamental Production of Newsies. He also performed in Into the Woods, PUSD’s All-Star Musical in the role of Cinderella’s Prince & Wolf 1. He will attend Hussian College.

Natalia Vargas, Arts, and Athletics
Natalia is leading the tradition for her family as a first-generation college student. She was the Girls’ Wrestling Team Co-Captian. She has received admission to attend Pasadena City College, Cal State Los Angeles, CSUN (Northridge), San Francisco State, UCLA, UC Riverside, UC Santa Cruz, the University of LaVerne, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Natalia will join the UCLA Bruin family as an Art Major. She is one of 1,000 student recipients of the Bruin Success Scholarship.

Janelle Walker, Leadership, Arts, and Academics
Janelle has been a member of the Marshall Fundamental Colorguard, Winterguard, and the Mighty Marching Band since Middle School and her senior year completes her fifth year which includes her leading the Mighty Marching Band as the Drum Major. Her academic accomplishments include being recognized by the College Board as an AP Scholar and she is also an AP Capstone Candidate for Diploma Program her research title is “Anxiety: A Comparative Analysis of Differing Levels between Generation Z with Generations Y/X.”
