Pasadena Educational Foundation’s Parent Advocacy in the Community

This is the time of year when PEN typically remind you about the important work it does for families and schools… that it improve schools because the organization keep parents informed, help parents find the right schools for their family, give parents a stronger voice in district decision-making, and help parents engage with their students and schools.

But this isn’t a typical year, and this is anything but a usual time.

So, this year, PEN is asking you to donate so that it can continue to adapt to these new circumstances and the changing needs of families and schools. As you know, PEN moved its programs online and cancelled their fundraising events. What you may not know is that PEN has developed new ways of connecting with more parents and schools to ensure that they’re representing more parent voices from schools throughout PUSD. PEN is also doing more outreach to ensure that all parents get the information and services they need during this challenging time.
