Pasadena Waldorf 7th Graders Explore LA River

Pasadena Waldorf School Students from Grade 7 recently explored the LA River from the inside out. Guided by LA River Kayak Safari, the students learned the history of the river, from its significance to indigenous communities and their stewardship, the taming of the river by cementing its base and redirecting it, and today’s efforts for wildlife and plant restoration. An informative, rigorous, and fun outing, Grade 7 students are now working on writing letters to city representatives in support of rehabilitation and conversation efforts. “This essential thread of active duty and responsibility in our youth is key to their healthy development.”
