Pasadena Waldorf Students Explore Sneaker Design at Shoe Surgeon Studios

Innovation was on full display for Pasadena Waldorf School’s 3D Foundations class students on their tour of the incredible Shoe Surgeon/SRGN Studios in Los Angeles. Grade 9 students and PWS High School Art teacher Mr. Getnick learned about the art and business of design in a collaborative environment from the initial 2D concept to the finished product. The students left inspired and encouraged to begin their end of year project: making their own sneakers from found materials! Thank you to all the master craftspeople who shared their backgrounds, stories and passions about their work. After the studio tour, students were treated to a VIP experience for some hoops on the Surgeon home court and checking out some of the priceless one-of-a-kind shoes in their showroom designed for athletes, celebrities, and brands.
