PEN: What is Open Enrollment?

Thinking about enrolling your students in a school other than your assigned neighborhood school for the 2023-24 school year? Open Enrollment applications for PUSD’s school choice lottery may be submitted from January 9 – 27. What is Open Enrollment?

The Open Enrollment process is a random lottery where students are admitted to schools outside their neighborhood based on the available seats projected at any given school. Here is a timeline with key dates for the 2023-24 Open Enrollment application process. Or PUSD’s Office of Enrollment will host an Open Enrollment workshop tomorrow, Thursday, December 15 from 5-6 pm at the Early Childhood Center (Cleveland campus), 524 Palisade St., Pasadena, Room B102. No registration is required.
