Sequoyah Students Celebrate California’s Foxes in Vibrant Mural

Sequoyah High School students Griffin (’25) and Sophia (’26) have brought to life the wildlife and landscapes explored through Sequoyah School’s Field Studies Program in a vibrant mural outside the Foxes’ Den. The artwork features all four native California fox species in their natural habitats: the Channel Islands fox, Sierra Nevada red fox, native gray fox (chaparral), and San Joaquin kit fox (desert). Representing playfulness, curiosity, and wisdom, the fox serves as a symbol of the natural beauty surrounding us and the creativity and lifelong learning embodied by Sequoyah students. This mural was created as part of the SAS Visual Arts class, with support from the Human Ecology Fellowship, and also acts as an educational resource through the K-12 Connections initiative.
