Sierra Madre Middle School Student Heads for History Day Competition Nationals



PUSD and Sierra Madre Middle School congratulates its student Jujube Hutt who is headed to the National History Day competition after succeeding at the county and state levels. This is the first time that an SMMS student has advanced to finals. Her exhibit entitled, “Marie Tharp: Redefining Girl Talk” focused on the geologist’s work mapping the ocean floor and her groundbreaking work for women in STEM. The following SMMS students also received honorable mentions at the county level: Anya Gnanapragasam, Owen Ho, Samantha Aldana, Ella Bernthal, Willow Clayton, and Kyle Mirabella.
