South Pasadena High School Marching Band Trailer Dedication Ceremony Kicks Off Competition Season

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, the South Pasadena High School (SPHS) Instrumental Music Program held a dedication ceremony for the new SPHS Marching Band trailer. A group of more than 60 community members celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony, performances by the Marching Band, and refreshments. With the support of South Pasadena Unified School District (SPUSD), the new semi-trailer will transport all of the band and colorguard equipment, uniforms, and props to band competitions and performances locally and statewide.

Starting on October 7, the SPHS Marching Band traveled to Hacienda Heights for their first competition using the new trailer. The trailer allows for safer and more efficient loading and unloading and a state-of-the-art hoist to lift heavier items onto the handbuilt, second level. Future competitions will take place at Chino Hills, Chino, and Trabuco Hills, before the SPHS Band heads to Elk Grove and Sacramento for the Western Band Association’s Championships in November.
