On Thursday, February 21, 2024, the South Pasadena Middle School (SPMS) ASB (Associated Student Body) helped organize a performance by The Immortals – a lion dance team based in the city of Los Angeles – for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders as part of the school’s Lunar New Year activities.

The brightly colored costumes of the lions and dragons and the sounds of drums, gongs, and cymbals delighted the senses. During the lunchtime show, student volunteers were selected to learn and perform the Dragon Dance. Thank you to the SPMS PTA for funding the school-wide event.
