SPUSD School Board Names Karissa Adams as President

During its meeting on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, the South Pasadena Unified School District (SPUSD) School Board recognized outgoing president Patricia Martinez-Miller for her service and voted in Karissa Adams as the board president for the next twelve months.

“This has been an absolutely wonderful year because the SPUSD board engages in meaningful dialogue and places an emphasis on consensus building,” said outgoing Board President Martinez-Miller. This board is extremely effective because the staff at the cabinet level works incredibly hard to ensure that the board is knowledgeable about the subject matter, and the South Pasadena community offers extraordinary support.”

Karen Tamis will serve as the school board clerk for 2024. The board reorganization date for 2024 has been set for December 17, 2024. Thank you to the entire board for their service and their concern for SPUSD students and employees.
