Rose Bowl Postpones Its Party of the Century

Published on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 | 7:12 am

The Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation has postponed the Rose Bowl Party of the Century, set for April 18, due to recent development with the COVID-19 pandemic, a statement posted by the Foundation on its website said.

“A new date for the Party of the Century will be announced as the situation gains more clarity,” the statement said.

The Foundation stressed this is a postponement and not a cancellation.

“Since this special event was impacted by unforeseen circumstances, we will be in touch with supporters of the event with further details regarding their gifts to the event, ticket status and options for continued involvement in the celebration,” the Foundation said.

The Rose Bowl Operating Company (RBOC), which operates the stadium itself, has announced the Rose Bowl will close both public and private event operations through the end of March until further notice, in accordance with guidelines from California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

“At this time, the Rose Bowl Stadium continues to work closely with federal, state and local health organizations, to monitor the evolving development regarding COVID-19,” the statement said. “First and foremost, the Rose Bowl Operating Company takes the health, safety and well-being of our guests, employees and (the) overall local community very seriously.”

The closure will impact at least the regular Rose Bowl public tour that’s scheduled for March 27 and the last Friday of every month.
