Temperatures will climb today to levels considerably above normal, forecasters said.
The unseasonable heat is the product of a ridge on interior high pressure combined with an offshore flow, said National Weather Service meteorologist Kristen Stewart.
The NWS forecast for Pasadena calls for sunny skies with a high near 84. Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 51.
Stewart said areas where temperatures will be 80 degrees are normally in the upper 60s at this time of the year.
Sunday the warm weather will hit a speed bump, and temps will drop and rain could wash the city with a 30 percent chance of showers after 4 p.m. Sunday will see increasing clouds, with a high near 71.
Sunday Night faces a 40 percent chance of showers before 10 p.m. It is expected to be cloudy, then gradual clear toward daybreak, with a low around 43.
