Thief Steals Package from House on S. Oak Blvd. Sunday; Also Caught Carrying Stolen Credit Cards and Counterfeit Mailbox Key

Lt. Pete Hettema of the Pasadena Police Department has reported a man was caught stealing a package from a home located in the 100 block of S. Oak Ave. at 7:55 p.m. on Sunday.

The resident was alerted to the man on her porch by a Ring Video Doorbell system which notified her of his presence. She called police and gave them a description of the suspect.

Lt. Hettema said responding officers saw the suspect leaving the area on foot and, based on her description, detained him. They found the resident’s package in his backpack, as well as stolen credit cards and a counterfeit mailbox key.

The suspect, Los Angeles resident Steven Martinez, 19, is currently in custody.
