Vallarta Supermarkets, which has a store at 655 N. Fair Oaks Ave. in Pasadena, has suspended its food and beverage sampling and the operation of their self-serve food stations “in an abundance of caution” in view of the COVID-19 crisis.

In a statement, the company said these steps are part of “extensive action” Vallarta Supermarkets is taking to ensure a safe shopping environment for their customers.

“We are following the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and have implemented additional cleaning and disinfecting procedures in all Vallarta Supermarkets and offices,” the statement said. “We have reminded our team members of proper hygiene, frequent handwashing and to remain at home if they are feeling ill and consult a health care provider.”

Vallarta also said they will be limiting the quantity of a select number of items they will allow to be purchased to ensure there are enough products for more families to purchase. Additional information on these limitations can be found at their stores, the statement said.

“We are grateful for the community we serve and the team members we have; there is nothing more important in our business, at this time, then redirecting all efforts and resources to get through this, together,” Vallarta continued. “We are closely monitoring and following the CDC and local public health departments’ guidelines and will take additional precautions as directed.”

In an additional measure, Vallarta said they are revising their return policy for customers.

“For our Team Members to focus on providing the outstanding customer service Vallarta is known for and to eliminate the risk of transmission of the Coronavirus in the supply chain, we will no longer be accepting returns on any items. All sales are final. This revised return policy has been developed in order to protect our team members and you, our valued customers,” the statement said.
