Local voters faced long lines at voting centers on Tuesday, and some encountered problems.
At City Hall three of the six machines were not working at 11 a.m.
“I’ll be glad when we can do this from home,” one voter said.
Despite troubles with the three machines, it still took about 30 minutes for people to vote. However, the line was growing by 11:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, the Mayoral candidates didn’t seem to have much planned while the results rolled in.
Mayor Terry Tornek told Pasadena Now he didn’t have any event planned, but would probably have family and friends over.
Tornek, who has already voted, said he would not be staying up late to monitor the results.
“Me staying up is not going to change the outcome,” Tornek said. “It’s not likely that I’ll stay up too late.”
Tornek is facing off against District 5 Councilman Victor Gordo, Jason Hardin and Major Williams.
Gordo plans to cast his ballot at a voting center in Pasadena today.
Gordo is planning to monitor the results with volunteers from his campaign.
“The people who are working hard on my campaign as volunteers want to work until 8:00 p.m. when the polls close,” Gordo said. “Then we’ll gather and watch the results. We’re excited. We believe there’s momentum citywide and we plan to, to watch the votes come in.”
Jason Hardin is hanging out with Christian Daly, who is hoping to unseat Congresswoman Judy Chu (D-Pasadena) and Major Williams said he would have a cigar and enjoy his regular nightly routine with his family
