ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena will screen an Academy Award-nominated documentary that follows a father’s fight for justice after his daughter became a victim of violence in India.

The college will show “To Kill a Tiger” on Friday, Nov. 21. Director Nisha Pahuja will participate in a discussion after the screening.

The film features executive producers Dev Patel, Mindy Kaling and Rupi Kaur. Notice Pictures Inc. co-produced the documentary.

Critics have praised the work. The Hollywood Reporter’s Stacey Wilson Hunt called it “easily the most amazing and important story I’ve seen told onscreen this year.”

The New York Times described it as “a film bristling with invigorating defiance.” Harper’s Bazaar Magazine recently listed it among the “top ten documentaries of all time.”

Doors open at 6 p.m. at Ahmanson Theater on ArtCenter’s Hillside Campus, 1700 Lida Street. The screening begins at 6:30 p.m.

Tracey Shiffman will moderate the 7:45 p.m. discussion. She serves as assistant chair of Print and Packaging in the Graphic Design Department at ArtCenter.
