On Saturday, July 19, from 6 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Pasadena Heritage will host its 29th Colorado Street Bridge Party—a celebration that transforms the historic bridge into a festival of community spirit, live music, and local flavor.
“We are excited to bring back this beloved and uniquely Pasadena tradition during a time where our community needs a feel-good event to gather,” said Michael Robleto, chairman of Pasadena Heritage.
First staged in 1978 with fewer than 200 attendees, the biennial event now draws about 5,000 people and remains the only private gathering that closes the bridge to traffic.
Musical acts include Mercy & the Merkettes, 63 Degrees, the Terry Kilgore Band and Tenscore.
Food will be offered by vendors such as Robin’s BBQ, Shake Shack, Dog Haus and All India Café, with craft beer from Cervecería Del Pueblo and Craftsman Brewing.
A Waymo self-driving car exhibit will debut at this year’s event.
Pasadena artist Kristopher Doe was commissioned to create “First Light,” a painting that will be auctioned online beginning July 1.
Doe teaches college-level art courses and has exhibited statewide.
In 2023, more than 3,500 people attended the party after a five-year hiatus, raising $80,000 for Pasadena Heritage.
“This Bridge Party was a huge success on all fronts, and it was very well attended, and people had a really good time,” said Michael Lichtman, development director.
Proceeds benefit Pasadena Heritage’s mission to protect the city’s historic and cultural resources.
The Colorado Street Bridge Party will run on Saturday, July 19 at 6:00 p.m. at Colorado Street Bridge, Defenders Park, corner of Orange Grove and Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91105.
