Pasadena Dance Theatre (PDT) joins the National Dance Day celebration by offering free classes all day Saturday, Sept. 17.
National Dance Day was launched in 2010 by Nigel Lythgoe, co-creator of the reality TV dance competition show “So You Think You Can Dance” and co-founder of American Dance Movement (formerly the Dizzy Feet Foundation).
That year, U.S. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, District of Columbia, introduced a National Dance Day resolution to express support for dance as a form of valuable exercise and of artistic expression.
Pasadena Dance Theatre sees National Dance Day as a good opportunity to offer free trial classes all week, with an open rehearsal on Saturday.
Classes will be held at Pasadena Dance Theatre, located at 1985 Locust Street.
