Foothill Family Marks 100 Years with Gala Celebrating a Century of Care

About 400 supporters gathered Saturday evening at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, as Foothill Family marked a milestone 100 years in the making with its Centennial Gala — a black-tie celebration honoring a century of service to children and families across the San Gabriel Valley.

The May 16 event brought community leaders, longtime supporters, and new advocates together for a night of celebrating the accomplishments of Foothill Family. Guests were welcomed with a cocktail reception before moving into a dinner program that highlighted the organization’s enduring impact since its founding in 1926.

Throughout the evening, Foothill Family leaders and speakers underscored the organization’s evolution from a small group of local women supporting neighbors in need to a regional nonprofit now serving more than 25,000 individuals annually. Programs span early childhood development, school-based counseling, youth and family therapy, and domestic violence prevention — services that remain in high demand as families navigate rising mental health challenges and economic pressures.

The program featured storytelling presentations that brought that mission into sharp focus, with real-life accounts illustrating how early intervention, parent education, and accessible counseling services can change the trajectory of a child’s life.

Energy in the ballroom built during the live auction and paddle raise, which encouraged guests to directly support expanded access to critical services. Funds raised during the gala will go toward strengthening programs that promote emotional well-being, family stability, and early learning opportunities for children throughout the region.

With a century of service behind it and strong community backing evident in the evening’s turnout, Foothill Family enters its next chapter with both momentum and mission firmly intact.
