Hillsides Hosts “La Dolce Vita” Gala to Support Vulnerable Children and Families

Published on Feb 25, 2025

On February 22, 2025, Hillsides, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing trauma-informed care and foster services to vulnerable children and families in Greater Los Angeles, hosted its annual fundraising gala, “La Dolce Vita, A Tuscan Affair,” at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel.

Inspired by their recent trip to Italy, longtime supporters and sisters Joan McCarthy and Diane Hough co-chaired the event, which featured a cocktail reception, silent auction, fine dining experience with an Italian flair, special musical performances, and a live auction hosted by Fritz Coleman. A guest speaker also shared their personal story of how Hillsides positively impacted their life.

The “La Dolce Vita” theme reflected Hillsides’ mission of creating a fulfilling life for children in their care by overcoming challenges. For over a century, the organization has provided comprehensive community-based services, including residential treatment, foster care and adoption support, and extensive young adult programs.

The gala raised essential funds to ensure the best quality of care for Hillsides’ clients and highlighted the organization’s commitment to creating lasting positive change in the lives of children, youth, and families through trauma-informed care and comprehensive support services.
