Nineteen months after the Eaton Fire, the conversation about Altadena has shifted from what was lost to what goes back up — and increasingly to what it is made of. A panel Thursday evening in Pasadena takes that question directly to people doing the work.
FIBI Pasadena, the local chapter of the real estate education network For Investors By Investors, has assembled three specialists it describes as working on the front lines of rebuilding Altadena. The program centers on cold-formed steel construction and, the organizers say, how the method is being used to put homes up faster and stronger than conventional framing allows.
The panel also takes up the role of an architect across the whole arc of a rebuild, from initial design through permitting and construction. Rehabilitation projects and where investors should be looking now round out the evening, according to the event announcement.
FIBI describes itself as a peer network rather than a sales channel, running participatory discussions with no pitch sessions or commercial affiliations. The Pasadena chapter meets on the third Thursday of each month.
Event details, admission prices and descriptions of the panelists were provided by FIBI Pasadena through its event announcement and registration listing.
