Junior League to Open Pasadena Headquarters for Boo-sadena Halloween Fundraiser

Published on Sep 30, 2026

The Junior League of Pasadena will open its headquarters at 149 S. Madison Ave. on Saturday, Oct. 24, for Boo-sadena, a Halloween fundraiser with a family trick-or-treat afternoon and a 21-and-over evening bus tour.

The League, founded in 1926, calls Boo-sadena a new fall tradition launched in its 100th year, and says proceeds will support its community programs and the training of its volunteer members in Pasadena and surrounding areas.

Hallowed Halls, the family portion, runs from 4 to 6 p.m., with timed entry at 4 or 5 p.m. Each session is limited to 40 guests. Every child receives a trick-or-treat passport and collects stamps at stations throughout the house and yard.

The stations include costumed League members handing out candy at decorated doorways, a fortune teller in the Room of Good Fortune, pumpkin painting and yard games, the League said. Pasadena ghost stories for children are read on the half hour in the Story Parlor. A costume contest at 5:30 p.m. opens with the Monster Mash and has categories for kids, adults, families and Best League-Made.

Nothing Bundt Cakes of Pasadena is providing sweet treats, and a prize drawing includes a family four-pack to Kidspace Children’s Museum and unlimited-ride wristbands to Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier.

At Dusk, for guests 21 and over, begins with a complimentary porch reception at 6:15 p.m. A chartered mini bus then leaves at 6:30 p.m. for roughly 80 minutes of stops and drive-bys, including the Colorado Street Bridge, Castle Green and the historic mansions of Orange Grove. A former Grand Ole Opry tour guide will narrate, and the bus returns to the headquarters by 8:30 p.m., the League said.

Hallowed Halls tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 3 to 12 and free for children under 3, with a family four-pack for $40. At Dusk tickets are $65 and include the reception and tour; seating is limited to 28.

“For many years, this house has been where Pasadena women gather to do good. This October, we’re opening the doors a little wider and letting it get a little spooky,” League President Lisa Glionna said in the announcement. “Boo-sadena is a chance for families and neighbors to see what the League is about, and every ticket goes back into the community programs that have been our work for a century.”

The League says it has contributed hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours and more than $5.2 million to community programs in its 100-year history.

Tickets are on sale now through the League’s website.
