The newly opened AC Hotel Pasadena will host pop and Southern California rock musician Tyler F. Simmons on Friday, May 2 at 5 p.m., marking one of the first live music events at the property that opened its doors this month.
The free performance is part of the hotel’s initiative to establish itself as both a hospitality destination and community gathering space in Pasadena’s Playhouse Village district.
AC Hotel said they’re creating an atmosphere where both travelers and locals can enjoy quality entertainment in an upscale setting. These weekend performances showcase the hotel’s European-inspired spaces while connecting with the vibrant arts scene that defines this neighborhood.
Simmons brings significant experience to the performance, having built his career through residencies at premier Southern California luxury properties including the Montage Laguna Beach, Four Seasons Westlake Village and Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage. His repertoire spans decades of popular music, from classic hits to contemporary favorites.
Beyond his hotel performances, Simmons has established himself as a sought-after artist for corporate events, with recent clients including The PGA Tour and Charles Schwab. The full-time performer has maintained consistent bookings at upscale venues since launching his professional career in 2016.
The 194-room AC Hotel, which opened on April 1 represents the first ground-up hotel development in Pasadena in nearly four decades. Located at the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Madison Ave., the property features a distinctive European-inspired design aesthetic.
The Marriott-branded hotel includes over 9,500 square feet of meeting space, the AC Lounge where the performance will take place, and a soon-to-open rooftop restaurant offering panoramic views of the area. The interior showcases works by California artists within custom-designed spaces created by Olsen Interior Architecture.
Live music performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings, adding to the cultural offerings in the Playhouse District, an area already known for its theaters, galleries and dining options.
