“Flashes of Light,” created by Billy Larkin and Ron Boustead, tells the story of Tesla’s connection with Electra, the powerful goddess of storm clouds who sends him visions of groundbreaking inventions during lightning storms.
Set in New York City during the late 1800s industrial revolution, the musical explores Tesla’s rivalry with Thomas Edison during the “War of the Currents,” a competition that determined the world’s electrical future. As Tesla and Electra become obsessed with pushing the envelope of scientific discovery, a star-crossed love story fraught with peril unfolds as the line between science and mythology begins to blur.
The cast features Devyn Rush as Electra and Thomas Winter as Nikola Tesla. Additional performers include Guy Noland as Thomas Edison, Patrick Munoz as Prometheus and George Westinghouse, Chima Rok as Mark Twain, Sydney Endicott (Mother and Female Chorus Member/Coverage), Nina Kasuya (Athena), Daniel Krause (Robert Johnson, Father, and Lab Worker), Amir Levi (Dionysus), Lauren Lorati (Katharine Johnson), Christopher Romero Sosa (Anton Szigeti), and Steven Wishnoff (Professor Brown and J.P. Morgan).
