The Pasadena Civic Auditorium will once again step into the national spotlight when “America’s Got Talent” returns to film its Season 20 auditions in March, bringing residents the chance to witness the television phenomenon firsthand and share in the experience of stars being born on the stage in fron of them.

The hit NBC talent competition, which continues to rank among the highest-rated summer TV programs with 5-10 million viewers per episode, will premiere its milestone 20th season on May 27, 2025.

Former Spice Girl Melanie “Mel B” Brown will return to the judging panel after a multi-year absence, rejoining Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara and Howie Mandel. Terry Crews will continue as host.

“Get ready for another season of jaw-dropping talent and unforgettable moments,” NBC announced in promotional materials for the upcoming season.

Audience members attending the live tapings will have opportunities to participate in raffles and giveaways, potentially winning gift cards to Amazon, Starbucks, Chipotle, and even cash prizes at select tapings.

“Join us for a relaxed and up-close experience with the judges in an intimate setting you won’t get anywhere else in Hollywood,” the show’s promotional material stated.

Those interested in attending the auditions as audience members can obtain free tickets, though advance reservations are required. Tickets will be available through the On-Camera Audiences website at:

The return of Mel B, who previously served as a judge from Seasons 8 through 13, adds an element of excitement for long-time viewers and represents one of the significant changes for the 20th season.

Contestants are evaluated on originality, stage presence, and talent level, with four “yes” votes from the judges required to move to the next round. Each judge can award one Golden Buzzer per season, sending an act directly to the live shows.

The show has helped launch the careers of notable performers including Terry Fator, Shin Lim, and Darci Lynne Farmer, continuing its tradition as a platform for discovering diverse talent.
