Boston Court Pasadena will host a special benefit performance of Tennessee Williams’ “The Night of the Iguana” on October 17, featuring an acclaimed production designed to sustain the theater’s commitment to developing new talent.
The production, directed by Jessica Kubzansky and running September 11 to October 19 as part of Boston Court Pasadena’s season, stars Riley Shanahan as the tormented Rev. T. Lawrence Shannon, with Jully Lee as Hannah Jelkes and Julanne Chidi Hill as Maxine. Michael G. Martinez and Dennis Dun complete the principal cast as Pancho and Nonno.
Theater critic Terry Morgan of ArtsBeatLA praised the production in a September review, noting that Shanahan elevates the character of Shannon, that Lee plays her beautifully, and that Hill captures Maxine’s various traits very well.
The benefit evening includes a pre-show cocktail reception, premium seating, intermission margaritas and sweets, and a post-show Q&A with the artists.
Proceeds will nurture the next generation of artists and deepen Boston Court Pasadena’s impact on the community, according to the theater.
The production features scenic design by Tesshi Nakagawa, costume design by Denitsa Bliznakova, lighting design by Kaitlin Trimble, and sound design by John Zalewski.
Free parking is available for benefit attendees in the theater’s lot.
The Night of the Iguana Fall Benefit Performance will run on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. Boston Court Pasadena, 70 N. Mentor Ave., Pasadena. For more call (626) 683-6801 or visit https://bostoncourtpasadena.org/benefit/. Tickets: $125 – $275
