Today’s Jingle & Mingle: A Pasadena Holiday Blockbuster

 

Pasadena Playhouse is transforming its historic campus into a winter wonderland today, inviting the community to celebrate in true Playhouse style. On Saturday, December 13, 2025, the Tony Award–winning State Theater of California hosts Jingle & Mingle, a festive mash-up of concerts, crafts, tours, and a sparkling tree-lighting finale complete with a staged snow moment.

A Holiday Celebration, Playhouse Style

Producing Artistic Director Danny Feldman says the vision behind Jingle & Mingle is “about more than just a holiday event—it’s about creating a space where everyone could experience the magic of theater.” That spirit shines through the programming:

• Concert Content: Audiences will enjoy a Frozen megamix, an original Theatermakers scene, heartfelt personal storytelling, festive tunes from the Playhouse Singers community choir, a joyful audience singalong, and a grand finale capturing the holiday spirit “Playhouse style.”
• Open House Activities: From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, families can explore behind-the-scenes tours, make holiday crafts, pose for family photos under the Playhouse Christmas tree, and enjoy performances across the 70,000-square-foot campus.
• Tree Lighting: At 5:00 PM, following the evening concert, the historic courtyard hosts a grand tree-lighting ceremony enhanced by artificial snow machines—clarifying that the “snow moment” is a staged effect, not natural snowfall.

This year’s Jingle & Mingle is part of the Playhouse’s centennial celebration, marking 100 years since the opening of its Spanish Colonial Revival building in 1925. The event also follows the Playhouse’s landmark repurchase of its historic home in April 2025, ending decades of private ownership. With its 2023 Regional Theatre Tony Award—the first for a Los Angeles–area theater in nearly half a century—the Playhouse continues to anchor Pasadena’s Playhouse Village while expanding education programs for students ages 5 to 105.

The event takes place Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Pasadena Playhouse, 39 South El Molino Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91101. Holiday Concerts are at 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, with the Holiday Open House from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 for members, while the Open House is free with RSVP.
