The 2024 Buick Enclave, a spacious and stylish three-row crossover SUV, is designed to meet a family’s needs and desires. The second-generation Enclave remains one of the most spacious vehicles in its class, excelling in both passenger and cargo capacity. Powered by a reliable V6 engine, the Enclave delivers robust performance and competitive fuel efficiency. While it may not be the most technologically advanced SUV on the market, it includes essential infotainment and driver-assist features that are used the most.

One of the standout features of the Enclave is its exceptionally roomy interior. The front and second-row seats offer ample space, and passengers will find the seats both comfortable and supportive. The third row is more spacious than that of many competitors. Additionally, the Enclave has a smooth, quiet ride and lots of cargo space. All this attention to detail makes the Buick Enclave an excellent choice for family road trips.

A 3.6 -liter V6 engine powers the Enclave pulling 310 horses with 266 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic makes it all work in harmony. Front wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive an available extra (my model included the AWD). Expect to get a respectable 17/city, 25/highway and 20/combined MPG for this large people mover.

The Enclave’s straightforward cabin design might come across as unexciting, but it excels in user-friendliness. The interior is spacious, and the second-row captain’s chairs can slide, allowing for individual preferences. The seats provide excellent cushioning, and except for the base trim, they even feature a basic massaging function. All passengers benefit from well-padded seats and armrests throughout the cabin. Each row is equipped with air vents, and the seat heating and ventilation functions work great.

Standard features include six USB ports, a wireless charging pad, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making even the base Enclave exceptionally well-suited for smartphone integration compared to many other three-row SUVs. Additionally, every Enclave is equipped with an impressive array of driver assistance features, such as blind-spot monitoring and a unique safety alert seat that vibrates when safety systems are activated. Adaptive cruise control, available across most trim levels, works well

The most luxurious version of the Enclave, the Avenir, includes an array of premium features designed to enhance both style and functionality. It comes with 20-inch aluminum wheels and rain-sensing windshield wipers for added convenience. The interior is distinguished by exclusive design details and diamond-stitched leather upholstery, offering a touch of elegance. A panoramic sunroof provides an expansive view, adding to the luxurious feel of the cabin. For safety and driving comfort, the vehicle is equipped with adaptive cruise control, which maintains a driver-set distance from the car ahead, and upgraded automatic emergency braking, which warns of imminent frontal impacts and applies the brakes if the driver fails to respond in time..

During my week of driving the Enclave I had a trip to Las Vegas planned. I drove through the desert on a particularly hot day (the outside temperature registered 113 degrees at one point). Of course the A/C was running full blast, it kept up with the heat and the large cabin. The V6 performed admirably with no noticeable drag on the engine from the A/C or the hills we had to climb. On the way home we hit a particularly nasty storm with the rain pounding down. The Enclave powered its way through. A notable performance through all kinds of weather.
