Huntington Hospital has updated its visitor policy and is now temporarily restricting visitors at this time.
According to the hospital’s website the only visitors allowed under the temporary policy are:
One healthy parent at a time for pediatric and neonatal intensive care unit patients.
One healthy birth partner for labor, delivery, postpartum and recovery units.
One healthy visitor for all patients having medically necessary procedures, including surgery, outpatient surgery, GI Lab, radiology, catheterization lab, etc.
One healthy visitor for all emergency room patients.
Exceptions to the policy may be made for those patients receiving end-of-life care or who have extraordinary circumstances.
Any visitor who exhibits signs and symptoms of illness may not visit hospitalized patients.
The hospital has set up surge tents proactively in case it needs to expand capacity to screen patients who could require hospital care.
“At this time [Monday, March 16], we do not need them,” the hospital said. “If we have a patient surge, we will activate use of the tents, alongside other measures that we have defined in our surge plan to free up beds and streamline care.”
