Four junior riders from San Pascual Stables of South Pasadena earned top-ten finishes and personal bests at the USEF Pony Finals in Lexington, Kentucky, after competing for national honors at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Trainers Caroline Sterckx and Sophie St.Clair led the Zone 10 team through a week of high-pressure rounds in both Individual and Team championships. Despite significant format changes, the event drew more than 140 pony jumper competitors.

Isabella Asper de Tyson and Air Force One placed fifth in the Individual Championship and fourth in the Team Championship. Camille Chi and Funboy St. Prix earned second in the 1.05-meter category, sixth in the Individual Championship and fourth in the Team Championship. Maeve Sager and Goldie du Rosemont took third in the 1.05-meter category, 19th in the Individual Championship and sixth in the Team Championship. Emerson Molinelli and Easy de Iris placed fourth in the 1.05-meter category, 22nd in the Individual Championship and also competed in the Team Championship.

“We’re incredibly proud of how each rider performed under pressure,” said Caroline Sterckx and Sophie St.Clair, co-trainers of the team. “From the very first warm-up to the final jog out, these riders represented our program with grace, grit, and a real love for the sport.”

This year marked a milestone for San Pascual’s Pony Finals tradition. St.Clair, a former student and protégé of Sterckx, returned to Kentucky as a trainer, bringing two of her own students alongside two trained by Sterckx. Their partnership underscored the program’s legacy of mentorship and horsemanship.

Team groom Cilantro Navarro provided care and attention that helped prepare each pony for peak performance throughout the week.

The riders’ success reflected the values central to the Sterckx and St.Clair training programs, including sportsmanship, preparation and teamwork.

San Pascual Stables, located in the historic Arroyo Seco in South Pasadena, has been developing riders of all levels for nearly 50 years. The program is known for its classical horsemanship, individualized coaching and supportive team environment.
