Remnants of Hurricane Priscilla Could Bring Thunderstorms to Pasadena

Pasadena will see cooler temperatures and a slight chance of thunderstorms beginning Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect highs to drop from the mid-80s to the upper 60s by Tuesday, marking the city’s coolest stretch in weeks. Tropical moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Priscilla may bring isolated thunderstorms late Thursday, with a 20 percent chance of precipitation after 11:00 p.m.

Today’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies early, clearing to sunshine by afternoon. The high will reach near 84 degrees, with light south-southwest winds around 5 mph. Tonight will be clear and calm, with a low near 56.

Thursday will be sunny with a high near 82. Winds will remain light, shifting from south to calm overnight. Friday will be warmer, with a high near 87 and gentle south-southwest breezes up to 10 mph.

Temperatures will decline through the weekend. Saturday and Sunday highs will reach the upper 70s, dropping to the low 70s Monday and upper 60s Tuesday. Overnight lows will range from the mid-50s to near 52.

Rain chances remain low. Forecasters do not expect significant rainfall, with cloud bases remaining high. A 30 to 40 percent chance of showers returns Tuesday, though forecast models remain uncertain.

Winds will stay light and variable through Friday. Offshore flow will develop over the weekend, bringing gusty north-to-northwest winds to nearby mountain areas and valleys. Pasadena is expected to experience only modest breezes.

Weekend conditions will be sunny and cooler. Saturday’s high will reach 78, followed by 77 on Sunday. Overnight lows will dip to the low 50s.

Monday will be sunny with a high near 73, followed by increasing clouds Monday night. Tuesday will bring a slight chance of showers and a high near 67.

Pasadena residents should prepare for cooler conditions and monitor forecasts for possible rain late Thursday and early next week.
