Arts for LA is seeking applicants Thursday for two of its training initiatives intended to foster the growth of future leaders advocating for arts programs in Los Angeles County.

County residents who are interested in applying have until Jan. 9 to submit an application for the nonprofit’s ACTIVATE’s delegates and emerging arts leaders programs.

“We are helping members of our arts community in L.A. find their voices and hone their leadership skills so they can advocate for the organizations and sectors they care about,” Gustavo Herrera, CEO for Arts LA, said in a statement.

The delegates program will function as an advocacy lab for artists, creative sector workers or anyone interested in the intersection of advocacy and the arts, according to the nonprofit’s website.

Nonprofit officials said the program will expand next year, increasing from four meetings to eight within the span of four months.

Participants in the nonprofit’s emerging arts leaders program will receive a nine-month stipend and gain community organizing experience. The nonprofit anticipates selecting 10 individuals, who will earn about $26 per hour during the length of the program.
