Assemblymember Holden to Host 25th Annual Community Resource Fair in Pasadena

Event aims to provide free resources and entertainment for residents of California's 41st Assembly District

Assemblymember Chris Holden is set to host the 25th Annual 41st Assembly District Community Resource Fair & Block Party in Pasadena, an annual Holden tradition.

The event, scheduled for Aug. 3, is scheduled to take place on the 500 block of East Jackson Street from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The fair offers a range of free resources and entertainment for attendees. Visitors can expect complimentary backpacks, hot dogs, live music and entertainment, as well as access to various community resources and information.

Holden, who represents California’s 41st Assembly District encompassing Pasadena and parts of Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties, has organized this event for 25 years.

Holden’s political career spans decades, beginning with his election to the Pasadena City Council in 1989. He served as Mayor of Pasadena from 1997 to 1999 before being elected to the California State Assembly in 2012.

A Pasadena High School graduate, Holden earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. He is the son of longtime Los Angeles politician Nate Holden and is married to Melanie Holden, with whom he has five children.

Currently chairing the Appropriations Committee, Holden has focused on issues such as education, social and racial justice, and public health. His legislative efforts have included introducing bills on teaching about the Barack Obama presidency and addressing California’s wildfire crisis.

The Community Resource Fair and Block Party is sponsored by various local organizations, including the Flintridge Center, Rose Bowl, E-Central Credit Union, Robin’s Wood Fire BBQ, Pasadena Unified School District, Assemblymember Chris Holden, Southern California Gas Company, and Pasadena Water and Power.
