Blue State Campaigns Receives Highest Industry Honor for Fourth Year in a Row

State Campaigns announced that, for the fourth year in a row, it has won a coveted Reed Award from Campaigns & Elections in the Best Logo & Branding category. Blue State Campaigns was recognized this year for its work on the Jess Rivas for Pasadena City Council campaign.

Jess Rivas, the current Vice Mayor of Pasadena and representative for Pasadena City Council District 5 since 2021, focused her 2026 reelection campaign on communicating to voters her successful record expanding affordable housing access, bolstering public safety, protecting the environment, and strengthening government transparency and accountability.

“As a Pasadenan myself, it’s important to me to have strong, thoughtful leaders like Jess guiding our community,” said Yedalian.

This year’s award marks the fourth consecutive time Blue State Campaigns has received a Reed Award for excellence in campaign logo and branding. The firm also won the same award in previous years: in 2025 for its work on the Blanca Rubio for State Assembly campaign, in 2024 for its work on the Ari Ruiz for State Assembly campaign, and in 2023 for its work on the Michelle Richardson Bailey for Pasadena School Board campaign.

The 2026 Reed Award winners were honored at the Reed Awards Ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina, on March 12.

Blue State Campaigns is a Pasadena-based political and communications consulting firm founded by Pasadena resident Hrag Yedalian, a seasoned strategist with over 25 years of experience in politics and government. The Blue State Campaigns team that worked on the Jess Rivas for Pasadena City Council campaign also included Alex Manoukian.

The Reed Awards are annual honors presented by Campaigns & Elections (C&E) recognizing members of the political consulting industry who demonstrate excellence in campaign tools, tactics, and techniques.
