Bungalow Heaven, Pasadena’s first landmark historic district, is set to open its doors once again for the 35th Annual Bungalow Heaven Home Tour on Sunday, April 26, 2026. This popular event takes visitors back in time to explore the rich architectural heritage which has made the neighborhood famous. Tickets are on sale now at bungalowheaven.org.
Every year, the Bungalow Heaven Home Tour supports historic preservation, and this year – in the spirit of continued focus on the community – the tour will also benefit San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity in their efforts to provide families who were affected by the Eaton Fire with a path to recovery. Upon ticket purchase, visitors will be asked to make a donation to the organization, and a portion of the proceeds from the tour will also be donated.
“The annual event took a pause in 2025, out of respect for those in Altadena, Pasadena and Sierra Madre who were affected by the Eaton Fire,” said Bungalow Heaven Neighborhood Association President Annette Yasin. “The neighborhood’s volunteer efforts were refocused toward helping fire-impacted friends and neighbors throughout the entire year through various community projects.”
“San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity has been building homes in the area for 36 years, and partnering with neighbors has always been at the center of the work,” said Michael Bridges, Senior Director of Development at San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity (SGV Habitat). “Together with supporters throughout the community, SGV Habitat is currently helping to build homes for families whose homes were lost in Altadena. The generosity of visitors on the Bungalow Heaven Home Tour this year can help more families get back home more quickly. Thank you for your partnership!”
From the distinctive gabled roofs to the inviting front porches, the Bungalow Heaven neighborhood epitomizes the quintessential charm of early 20th-century California architecture. The interiors of eight homes will be featured on the self-guided walking tour, with volunteer docents at each home to explain the history and architectural highlights found within. Along the route, participants can speak to restoration experts about how to maintain a historic home and view demonstrations of restoration work. Throughout the day, McDonald Park will be hopping with music, fresh-baked cookies, local food trucks with food for purchase and a silent auction featuring unique items to bid on.
“Whether you’re a history buff, an architecture enthusiast or simply looking for a day of leisurely exploration, this event offers something for everyone to enjoy,” Yasin said. Tickets for the Home Tour can be purchased at BungalowHeaven.org.
