California Credit Union Foundation Invites Pasadena Applications for Spring Teacher Grant Program

California Credit Union Foundation is encouraging Pasadena teachers to apply for a credit union grant through its spring Teacher Grant program, aiming to fund innovative class projects. The foundation plans to award up to 10 grants of $500 each to area teachers in April as part of the program.

The California Credit Union Foundation grant program, available to full-time teachers in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties or credit union members teaching in California, seeks to support special learning opportunities for students.

Projects should have clearly defined learning objectives tied to students’ academic needs, display creativity, and benefit a significant number of students, the Credit Union stipulates.

“Providing grants to help our teachers and schools thrive and recognize their commitment to learning is one of the Foundation’s focus areas as a pillar of long-term community empowerment,” Marvel Ford, California Credit Union Foundation President, said. “We’re excited to offer this grant program to support our hard-working teachers in bringing their dream project to life, and encourage any educator who has a project idea to apply.”

Since its start in 2012, the grant program has awarded $185,000 in teacher grants to benefit students across Southern California. Some projects funded by the fall grant program include creating student wellness corners, initiating a cow eyeball dissection lab, expanding school music programs, and incorporating multimedia into school newspapers.

To apply for the grant, teachers are advised to visit https://www.ccu.com/teachergrant/ and fill in the required information.

The application deadline is April 1, 2024.

California Credit Union Foundation is the philanthropic arm of California Credit Union, a state-chartered full-service credit union with nearly $5 billion in assets, approximately 200,000 members, and 25 retail branches. The Foundation aims to strengthen the financial well-being of communities across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura counties. The Foundation funds all administrative costs, ensuring that 100% of donations go back into community programs.
