The reelection campaign of District 7 City Councilmember Jason Lyon said Thursday that he has received the endorsements of Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and every member of the Pasadena City Council.

“I am endorsing Jason Lyon for reelection to the Pasadena City Council,” said Barger. “Jason’s record of service to our region is commendable, and I respect his commitment to listening to every perspective in our community”

“We have proudly worked together on multiple issues, including expanding affordable housing opportunities and addressing the needs of our unhoused neighbors. I look forward to continuing our partnership to develop practical solutions that support the people we serve.”

“It is a great honor to receive Supervisor Barger’s endorsement,” responded Lyon. “She has been such a proactive and present leader for our city and her entire district. I admire her service and commitment to our community, and I look forward to continuing to partner with Supervisor Barger to realize our shared goal of helping our region to thrive.”

In addition to Supervisor Barger’s endorsement, Lyon’s campaign said that he has also won the unanimous support of his City Council colleagues.

Mayor Victor Gordo, Vice Mayor Jess Rivas (District 5), and Councilmembers Tyron Hampton (District 1), Rick Cole (District 2), Justin Jones (District 3), Gene Masuda (District 4), and Steve Madison (District 6) have each endorsed Lyon’s re-election campaign.

“City Council endorsements are never a given, and I am deeply grateful and humbled to have my colleagues’ support. It has been a rewarding experience to work with each of them. I look forward to continuing our shared work of creating a more vibrant Pasadena.”

Since announcing his re-election campaign earlier this year, Lyon has received broad and varied support from elected officials, community organizations, and District 7 residents. Rep. Judy Chu, State Senator Sasha Renée Pérez, and Assemblymember John Harabedian were early endorsers of Lyon.

Lyon was elected to the City Council in 2022. He represents Pasadena’s Council District 7, which spans from Arroyo Parkway to Oak Avenue and from Colorado Blvd. to Pasadena’s southern border.

Lyon said he hopes to make City Hall more transparent, approachable, and accountable to the people it serves. He aims to make government more inclusive by helping constituents navigate city services. Lyon is also known to pause during city council meetings to explain complex decisions.

According to his campaign website, Lyon is running for reelection to prioritize the issues that matter most to the Pasadena community: protecting our quality of life, addressing homelessness with compassion, and building a climate-resilient, affordable city where every family can thrive.
