The Environmental Advisory Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday to review several key environmental initiatives affecting Pasadena residents, including updates on solar energy programs and a proposed environmental justice element.

The agenda includes two significant information items: a follow-up presentation on the State Water Project tour by a Commission representative and a discussion of initial updates regarding solar and demand response programs under the city’s OSP initiative.

A key action item on the agenda involves discussion and voting on a letter concerning the Request for Proposal for an Environmental Justice Element, which could impact future environmental policy decisions affecting Pasadena neighborhoods.

The meeting will feature updates from standing and ad hoc committees covering critical environmental areas. Standing committees include Energy, Waste Reduction, Water, Hahamongna Watershed Park Advisory, Urban Design, Preservation & Natural Areas, Transportation, and Environmental Health. Additional reports will come from ad hoc committees on Artificial Turf and Utility Advisory matters.

The public session will begin with roll call, followed by an opportunity for public comments on matters not on the agenda. Commissioners will also review minutes from their November 12, 2024 meeting.

The Commission will meet at 6:00 p.m. on December 10 at 175 North Garfield Avenue in Pasadena.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, listening assistive devices are available from the City Clerk’s Office with 24-hour advance notice by calling (626) 744-4785. Requests must be made at least one week before the meeting.

The agenda has been publicly posted at multiple locations, including the Council Chambers bulletin board, City Hall rotunda bulletin board at 100 N Garfield Avenue, and the bulletin board outside the front entrance of the Hale Building. The complete agenda is available online at:
