City construction teams start work on replacing a 100-year-old, eight-inch water main along a one-mile stretch of Lake Avenue Monday in a project which will last over three and a half months and likely increase congestion.
Construction work will take place on Lake specifically between Woodbury Road and Boylston Street.
PWP Interim General Manager Erik Klinkner said the work will impact both residential and up to 100 business customers including a few restaurants along the mile-long stretch, although only one side of the street will be impacted at a time.
Customers on the west side of Lake will be impacted from July 27th to October, and those on the east side will be impacted from October to November 2015.
Each customer will be affected directly for only a four-hour time period, PWP said in a release.
Each impacted customer will receive a notice from the water construction team specifying the date of service work. The team will also provide customers the opportunity to change the scheduled time of the four-hour service window for the day the work is scheduled.
Digital boards containing current information about the construction work will be placed along Lake Avenue and neighboring streets.
Customers may check with the project website on www.pwpweb.com/projects for more information, or call the Project Manager, Natalie Ouwersloot at (626) 744-4409.
