Clouds Give Way to Warming Trend in Pasadena by Thursday

Pasadena residents will see cooler-than-normal temperatures early this week before a steady warm-up begins Thursday, according to National Weather Service forecasters. Morning clouds and patchy drizzle will linger through Wednesday, but highs are expected to climb into the mid-80s by the weekend.

Forecasters said Tuesday’s high will reach about 74 degrees under cloudy skies that gradually clear by midday. Light drizzle may be seen in some foothill areas before 11:00 a.m. Winds will remain calm, shifting to a light south-southwest breeze in the afternoon.

Wednesday will bring similar conditions, with patchy fog in the morning and a high near 77 degrees. Thursday will mark the start of the warming trend, with sunny skies and highs near 80 degrees. Overnight lows will stay in the low to mid-50s through midweek.

Temperatures will continue rising Friday, with highs near 83 degrees. Independence Day on Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with highs around 84 degrees. Sunday will be sunny and slightly warmer, reaching 85 degrees. By Monday, highs may reach 86 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

The National Weather Service said the marine layer remains deep, keeping mornings gray and cool. However, rising heights in the atmosphere will allow for gradual warming across the valleys, including Pasadena. No advisories are currently in effect for the area.

Forecasters expect the warming trend to continue into early next week, with highs in the mid- to upper-80s and fewer morning clouds.
