Commuting through Pasadena on I-210 Foothill Freeway could be a slow-mo affair this week.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced that on- and off-ramps at Allen Avenue and Altadena Drive and some adjoining street lanes along Interstate 210 in Pasadena will be closed at times for upgrades.
The closures are scheduled to take place at various times from Monday, Aug. 7 through Friday, Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Caltrans said.
During the closures, eastbound and westbound I-210 full on- and off-ramp closures, ramp lane closures and adjacent street lanes will be affected.
Caltrans said the upgrades include the installation of Accessible Pedestrian Signal systems, pedestrian countdown timers, and the re-striping of crosswalks to conform to current Americans with Disabilities Act standards. Additionally, curb ramps will be upgraded.
Work will include some concrete pours. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time.
Caltrans said motorists should allow extra travel time and to be alert in work zones. The closures are subject to change.
