Pasadena will shift from unseasonably warm weather to cooler conditions starting Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Highs near 85 degrees on Thursday will drop into the upper 70s Saturday and lower 70s Sunday, as offshore winds weaken and fog develops.
Forecasters said the cooling follows several days of temperatures 15 to 20 degrees above normal. Morning fog is possible Friday through Sunday.
Thursday’s forecast calls for sunny skies, a high near 85 degrees and light northeast winds turning southwest. Overnight lows will dip to around 51 degrees under clear skies.
Friday will remain sunny with highs near 82 degrees and calm winds. Saturday will cool further to around 77 degrees, with a higher chance of morning low clouds and fog.
By Sunday, highs will reach only about 72 degrees. Overnight lows will stay near 52 degrees. Despite the cooling, temperatures will remain slightly above seasonal averages.
No rain is forecast through the weekend. The National Weather Service noted dry conditions will continue into next week, though long-range models suggest a possible storm around Dec. 23–24.
Winds will stay light throughout the period. Offshore flow will weaken Friday, allowing marine layer clouds and fog to form more readily.
Early next week will bring a rebound in temperatures, with highs near 79 degrees Monday before settling into the mid-70s Tuesday and Wednesday.
